There should be a variety of ways to participate, so that most people can find at least a one or two ways that work for them to contribute.

There should be a sufficient diversity of activities to be able to engage diverse people with different capacities and availabilities. A mix of individual (from home, or wherever) and group activities, varying time requirements (both in terms of length of time, and time of day), different modes to accommodate all forms of disability, etc.
