“Question of the week” is a project to try to connect with many individuals and organizations in the region to try to figure out how we can better engage in social change work and movement building here.
The current plan (but open to change) is to post one question a week, inviting responses across a variety of platforms/channels (email, social media, Discord, in person, …). The responses (if any) would then be summarized into a report made available through all of those channels.
Some possible areas of question (but not limited to):
- Communications—how can we get everyone connected? (What approaches and tools are in use, and what would be good to use more broadly?)
- Who is being left behind/out in local organizing? What barriers to participation are there here? What might enable us to be more inclusive, more broadly engaging, in our efforts here?
- Resources—what is out there in the community that we might tap into and share?
- Identifying gaps. What’s missing that would help (resources, tools, plans, learning, practices, processes, etc.)?
- What opportunities are we missing? What opportunities are coming up?
- What conflicts, or other problems, are disrupting or blocking us?
- What principles and “visions” do people and organizations here have? Are there some shared principles or “visions” common to most/all of the folks working for social & environmental justice here?
Your suggestions for how to improve this are welcome! Please either post on the Discord server, or send them to [email protected]. Thanks! — Grant
